Today

Churches and ‘the Church’

‘The Altar’ and Women

Priests Preaching

‘Hands wide open’

She was reaching out

bringing light down

Like a channel over her head

‘Jesus’, she said

She showed 

Equality and Feminism

Women’s rights

‘Why oh why’,

Has the church

Rome and the pope

Been so resilient

So behind and deaf

‘Open up’, ‘open Your arms’

Change with the times or fall apart

Like a coliseum

Today.

And then there

Are signs of change?

Openness –

St Peters and St Pauls

Today

I noticed ‘the porch’

Glass to the ground

Onto the massive structure

Of grey granite

Long broad walls

Square with red matt doors and accents!

There is hope perhaps?
